Health care and social assistance accounts for 6,139 working residents (15.3%), education for 4,380 (10.9%) and retail trade for 4,240 (10.5%), followed by accommodation and food services at 3,465 (8.6%), transportation and warehousing at 3,100 (7.7%) and manufacturing at 2,932 (7.3%). Caregivers, teachers and shop staff keep demand for clinics, tutoring, uniforms and quick meals steady through the year, which is useful for steady-budget ad plans.
San Antonio Regional Hospital heads the 2025 employer list reproduced on Wikipedia with 2,000 employees. The Upland Unified School District follows with 1,272, VCI Construction with 458, Holliday Rock Co. with 450 and Upland Rehabilitation & Care Center with 370. Lewis Group, the City of Upland, Target, Bullwinkles Family Fun Center and Amazon Fresh complete the top ten.
