District campaigns
We build separate campaigns for the sections of town a business actually serves, such as the Tower District or the Woodward Park side, each with its own budget and landing page. The monthly report shows which side produces calls.

Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsPicture a Friday when the Grizzlies play at Chukchansi Park and a driver two blocks away types urgent care open now into a phone. The ads that appear for that query are chosen in a second, and in a city of 541,528 residents spread over 115.8 square miles, whether an ad appears at all depends on where its owner drew the map, who answers the call and how the landing page loads on a spotty connection.
That is the problem we solve for Google Ads in Fresno. We set radii that match real districts, from Tower District blocks to the Woodward Park side, put a tracked phone number in every ad and send people to landing pages that open quickly on a phone. A dedicated account manager reports once a month on which streets and hours produced calls, Bing Ads and Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) join when they help, and the arrangement stays month to month with nothing to pay to begin.

Number 257 of 322 California cities

Buyers, advertisers and job seekers
Big employers shape the traffic that pay-per-click advertising for Fresno companies will receive. Wikipedia's quote of the 2023 annual report lists Fresno Unified School District at 13,669 employees, Community Medical Centers at 9,750, the County of Fresno at 8,980, Amazon at 6,500, Clovis Unified School District at 6,400 and the City of Fresno at 5,015. People who work there, and people who want to, type job and career searches that a service business should keep out with negative keywords before the first dollar is spent.
The census table shows where buyers come from. Health care and social assistance holds 37,577 resident jobs (16.4%), retail trade 24,646 (10.7%), education 21,061 (9.2%), accommodation and food services 17,098 (7.5%), public administration 14,672 (6.4%) and construction 14,486 (6.3%). Construction at that size means plenty of tradespeople who advertise and homeowners who hire, and California State University, Fresno, with 5,233 employees, keeps student traffic in the mix.
The county auction is crowded but mostly small. Besides the heavy medical and legal counts, Fresno County has 426 dentists at 1.51 times the typical rate and 185 accounting firms at 1.5 times, while real estate agents number 304 and are up 55.1%, roofing contractors 64 and up 30.6%, and residential remodelers 199 and up 30.1%. These are county totals, not the city's own, but growth like that means new ads keep appearing, and precise targeting and call quality matter more than outbidding anyone.
Who the customers are
A workforce profile suggests schedules and budgets. These six sectors employ more Fresno residents than any others.
| Sector | Share of working residents |
|---|---|
| Health care and social assistance | 16.4% |
| Retail trade | 10.7% |
| Education | 9.2% |
| Accommodation and food services | 7.5% |
| Public administration | 6.4% |
| Construction | 6.3% |
Data: ACS 5-year estimates for 2018-2022 (civilians 16 and older). A resident's job can sit beyond the city line, so this describes people, not employers inside the city.
Who you bid against
The Census counts businesses by county, so each row describes Fresno County in full, with Fresno inside it. A value of 2.0x means twice as many locations per resident as the median U.S. county.
Census County Business Patterns, 2017 and 2022, employer establishments for the entire county. A business listed here may or may not advertise.
Pins, radii and exclusions
In a city of 541,528, a radius that is too large wastes spend on customers a business cannot reach, and one that is too small misses nearby demand. The nine places below come from Wikipedia and city planning documents, and each points to a targeting or scheduling choice.
| Area | Targeting angle |
|---|---|
| Tower District | A tight radius around the theater block with evening bids suits restaurants and shops, while service businesses can exclude the neighborhood if they do not travel there. |
| Fulton Street | Downtown offices can use a radius that follows the reopened street and add a location extension showing the real entrance, since many drivers still look for the old pedestrian mall. |
| Chukchansi Park | Game nights justify short evening bid boosts for parking, food and late hours within a few blocks, and a lower bid once the crowd leaves. |
| Fig Garden | Because the area is an unincorporated pocket with its own homeowners association, home-service ads should say whether they cover it and use a separate radius if they do. |
| Woodward Park | A northeast radius for family services and outdoor businesses, kept separate from central Fresno so reports show which side of town produces calls. |
| Roeding Park | The zoo draws families who search for food and activities, so a nearby radius with weekend scheduling fits restaurants and child-friendly services. |
| Fashion Fair | The mall on East Shaw Avenue is a recognizable pin for retail and service ads, with extensions that show distance and hours. |
| Blackstone Avenue | A corridor radius follows the redevelopment area, and cross streets such as Shields in ad text help drivers choose a location. |
| Fresno Yosemite International Airport | A narrow pin near the terminal suits car, lodging and shuttle ads, with negative keywords for flight status and jobs. |
Area names are informal and come from municipal, county and regional publications.
Who taps an ad
Household money sets the tone of any ad in paid search in Fresno. Median household income is $63,001 against $95,764 for the typical city in our set, median rent is $1,227 (typical: $1,970) and 51.9% of households rent, while 22.1% of residents live below the poverty line. Searchers compare before they call, so headlines that state what a visit includes, how an estimate works or whether walk-ins are welcome carry more weight than a slogan.
Timing follows work and school. A median age of 32.1 and 27.8% of residents under 18 mean evenings and weekends carry family searches for dentists, tutoring and home repair, while the unemployment rate of 9% and the fact that only 8.8% of workers work from home (typical: 11.8%) put a lot of searches on a phone during a lunch hour. Schedules that raise bids in those windows and lower them overnight keep spend near the people who can answer.
Language and geography decide what an ad can promise. Spanish is spoken at home by 29.7% of residents (typical: 20.5%), so a Spanish ad group is worth testing for any business that has someone on the phone who can serve a caller in Spanish. And with only 7.8% commuting 45 minutes or more, most customers live near where they work, which is why neighborhood radii beat one citywide setting.
Crowding is the third factor. Fresno County counts 3,457 businesses in the ad-heavy categories we follow, 34 per ten thousand residents, and 81.7% of them are small. Competition is concentrated in medicine and law, where 669 physicians' offices and 403 law offices sit at 1.63 and 1.38 times the typical rate, so a clinic bidding on general terms pays for clicks from people who wanted something else.
Campaign shapes
One radius per section
We build separate campaigns for the sections of town a business actually serves, such as the Tower District or the Woodward Park side, each with its own budget and landing page. The monthly report shows which side produces calls.
Numbers that name the source
Every ad carries a tracked number and a call button, and calls are logged by campaign and hour. Because 8.8% of workers are at home, most conversions happen by phone from a mobile search.
Avoid broad keywords
With 669 physicians' offices and 403 law offices in Fresno County, a campaign should target one service or case type with matching ad text. Negative keywords remove job, student and do-it-yourself searches.
Ballpark, fair and school year
Bids rise for game nights at Chukchansi Park, the Big Fresno Fair in October and the school calendar for tutoring and dental ads, then fall when demand drops. Reports compare event weeks with ordinary weeks.
29.7% speak Spanish at home
A Spanish group gets its own keywords, headlines and landing page for businesses with a Spanish speaker on the line, which matters because 29.7% of residents speak the language at home. If nobody can answer in Spanish, the group is left out so a click never ends at voicemail.
Clovis, Sanger, Madera
A shop near Roeding Park that also serves Clovis (7 miles), Sanger (14) or Madera (21) runs a campaign for each place, which shows where customers come from instead of blending them into one total.
Starting from the districts and numbers above, from Fulton Street to the north side, Google Ads management for Fresno businesses can stay practical. Your account manager will recommend the first campaigns and the order in which to add the rest, and each monthly report explains every change in plain words.

Plans and fees
You pay one flat fee each month, based on how many ad platforms we manage, and there is no contract. Ad spend is its own budget and is paid to Google, Bing or Meta directly. Spending over $10K a month? Schedule a call.
From owners in Fresno
Our fee is flat and billed monthly: $895 covers one platform, $1,595 covers two, and $2,295 covers three, with no contract to sign. Click spend is a separate budget, paid to Google, Bing or Meta and set from what a customer is worth to you. See the plan cards above, or compare plans on the pricing page.
Some campaigns produce calls the day they go live, while others take two to four weeks as keywords and schedules are tuned, and nothing is promised. The first monthly report shows which hours and districts around Tower District or Fulton Street produced calls.
We begin with the value of one new customer and the share of leads that close, taken from your own records. The total is then divided among districts from Fresno State to Fig Garden, and each month's report moves money toward the one bringing qualified callers.
Search ads reach people who need care now, while Meta Ads can reach neighbors before they search; for Community Medical Centers neighbors both have a role. Tracked numbers on separate landing pages show which source produced appointments.
It can, with a campaign for each place so the report is readable in a city of 541,528 residents. Clovis is 7 miles away and Sanger 14, and their customers and landmarks are different enough to deserve separate budgets.
Only if the business can serve those customers. At Chukchansi Park, restaurants and parking operators within a few blocks can raise bids on event evenings, while a business ten miles away should leave them out.
Negative keywords for jobs, careers, applications and salaries are added at launch, and the search terms report is reviewed monthly. Fresno Unified School District and Amazon alone list 13,669 and 6,500 employees, so those terms are common.
When someone can answer in Spanish, a test group is reasonable, since 29.7% of residents speak it at home. If not, English ads with clear hours are the honest choice.
State in the ad and the service-area list whether Fig Garden is covered, and use a separate radius. Callers who learn that before dialing waste neither side's time.
Some people using ChatGPT on free or lower-priced plans now see labeled sponsored ads that advertisers purchase from OpenAI directly. Targeting there runs by country or topic rather than by keyword, and reporting is still early, which makes it better suited to a test budget than to the center of a plan. Google Ads is still where most local plans begin; reach out to talk through whether a test fits.
