Language-split campaigns
Chinese, English and Spanish campaigns each get their own keywords, ad text and landing page, since 51.5% of residents were born abroad. Each shows as its own line in the monthly report, so results are not buried.

Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not months51.5% of Monterey Park residents were born outside the United States, against 24.4% in the typical California city in this set, and 21.5% are 65 or older, against 14.5%. Two numbers like that decide what an ad should say and when it should run: the words may be Chinese, English or both, and the person reading may be a parent or grandparent who wants to call, not fill out a form. Paid search in Monterey Park is built around those habits, among 60,386 residents and the daytime crowds of three corridors and a college.
Google Ads management for Monterey Park businesses at GetPhound covers the account end to end, from Atlantic and Garvey to North Garfield Avenue: campaigns by language and by corner, landing pages built for the ads, call and form tracking, a monthly report and a dedicated account manager. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) and Bing Ads are added once search is steady. There is no setup fee, and the plan runs month to month without a contract.

49.9/ 100
Number 166 of 322 California cities

Customer behavior
Language is a campaign decision, not a translation job. Wikipedia reports that Mandarin became the most widely spoken language in many Chinese businesses, and its 2010 breakdown put Chinese Americans at 47.7% of the population, while 17.4% of residents speak Spanish at home (typical: 20.5%). A Chinese-language campaign needs its own keywords, its own ad text written or checked by a native speaker and its own landing page, and it should show up as its own line in the report. An English account with a translated copy loses searchers who phrase things differently.
Age and routine set the clock. Median age is 44.7 (typical: 37.6), and only 17.2% of residents are under 18 (typical: 22.5%), so ads aimed at adults handling health, money, taxes and home matter most. Garfield Medical Center on North Garfield Avenue, first on the city's 2025 employer list with 819 people, and East Los Angeles College on its 82-acre campus produce weekday daytime traffic, and a call button with a tapped number often does more than a form. Scheduling ads for lunch, early evening and Saturday mornings is a sensible first test.
Money and housing change the offer. Median household income is $76,892 against $95,764 typical, 49.5% of households rent (typical: 40.3%), median rent is $1,791 and median home value is $770,100. Value-minded searches (open now, same day, no appointment needed) sit beside high-consideration ones for law, immigration, real estate and remodeling. The two want different ad copy and different landing pages, and the account should keep them in separate campaigns so each budget can be judged on its own.
The auction is crowded in particular trades. Los Angeles County counts 8,373 law offices (3.01 times the typical county's density), 6,285 real estate agents and brokers (up 37.6%), 9,470 physicians' offices (down 8.7%), 6,381 dentists and 2,549 accounting firms at 2.18 times typical, and these are county figures, not the city's own. For a small advertiser here, narrower is cheaper to learn: one service, one corner, one language, with negative keywords that cut searches from people who will never buy.
What the plan emphasizes
Own keywords, own pages
Chinese, English and Spanish campaigns each get their own keywords, ad text and landing page, since 51.5% of residents were born abroad. Each shows as its own line in the monthly report, so results are not buried.
Atlantic, Garvey, Garfield
Ad groups follow Atlantic and Garvey, Garfield and Garvey and North Garfield Avenue, with location assets and a landing page for each. A searcher near the corner sees the corner named in the ad.
Lunch, evening, Saturday
Older customers (21.5% of residents are 65 or older) often prefer to phone, so call extensions and call tracking come first, and the schedule leans on lunch, early evening and weekends. The report shows which hours produce calls.
Jobs, courses, DIY
Near East Los Angeles College, searches for classes, jobs and enrollment will not buy a service, so those words are blocked by default. The list grows from the search terms report each month.
Facebook and Instagram
Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) reach people who are not yet searching, such as families before the Cinco de Mayo or Chinese New Year festivals at Barnes Park. They are tested after search is steady.
More search, same landing pages
Bing Ads, which is Microsoft Advertising, adds another source of search traffic for the city's 60,386 residents that reuses the same landing pages and tracking. We add it when the main account is stable and the budget allows.
Six campaign pieces would anchor an account for 60,386 residents, three corridors and a language mix that changes block by block. Each is tied to a figure or place above.
Buyers and advertisers
Health care is the biggest local industry with 4,370 working residents (15.5%), and the city's employers include Garfield Medical Center (819 employees), Monterey Park Hospital (368) and Network Medical Management (325). Medical and dental ads are common, so a small practice competes by narrowing: one specialty, one insurance plan or one language per campaign, with a landing page that answers the question the ad raised. The county's 9,470 physicians' offices and 6,381 dentists make a general campaign hard to win.
Retail and food drive the rest. Accommodation and food services employ 3,096 residents (11%) and retail trade 2,689 (9.5%), with Costco at 449 employees and Home Depot at 225 on the 2025 employer list. Restaurants and shops can match ads to the calendar they already know, from festival weekends to the start of the school term, and can use the Monterey Park Marketplace and Atlantic Times Square as the places their ads are aimed.
Trades and suppliers also advertise here. Across twelve advertising-heavy categories, Los Angeles County counts 49,627 establishments and 88.5% of them are small, including 3,727 residential remodelers (up 36.4%), 2,244 electrical contractors and 2,670 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors. Those buyers search with specific words, so exact-match keywords, tight negative lists and a landing page that lists the service area fit better than a broad campaign.
Work and shopping habits
Work shapes when people have time to call and what they can spend. These six sectors employ more Monterey Park residents than any others.
| Sector | Share of working residents |
|---|---|
| Health care and social assistance | 15.5% |
| Accommodation and food services | 11% |
| Retail trade | 9.5% |
| Manufacturing | 8.2% |
| Transportation and warehousing | 6.8% |
| Education | 6.8% |
Data: ACS 5-year estimates for 2018-2022 (civilians 16 and older). A resident's job can sit beyond the city line, so this describes people, not employers inside the city.
Businesses chasing the same clicks
Monterey Park is in Los Angeles County, and county is the smallest area for which the Census publishes these counts. Read 1.0x as the median U.S. county and 2.0x as double that density.
Data: County Business Patterns 2017 and 2022, employer establishments, whole-county counts. Density compares each county's locations per 10,000 residents with the median U.S. county's rate. It measures businesses, not who is buying ads.
Location settings
At 7,871 residents per square mile, a radius of a mile can take in three corridors and two shopping centers at once. These nine places show how location settings, ad groups and exclusions would be drawn in Monterey Park.
| Area | Targeting angle |
|---|---|
| Atlantic and Garvey | A tight radius at this corner serves bakery, bank and restaurant ads, and the ad can name the corner so a searcher on a phone knows it is close. |
| Atlantic Times Square | Theater and fitness visitors plus 210 condominium residents make this a place for evening and weekend ad scheduling with food and service offers. |
| Garfield and Garvey | The downtown business district is where an ad group for same-day service, with call extensions, would try to catch lunchtime searchers. |
| Monterey Park Marketplace | Shoppers arrive by freeway, so an ad group aimed at the Home Depot and Costco side of town fits trades, delivery and installation services. |
| North Garfield Avenue | Hospital and office traffic here supports a separate campaign for clinics, pharmacies and insurance, with ads that carry the exact distance. |
| East Los Angeles College | A campaign around the campus can offer student-friendly hours and lunch deals, with exclusions so it does not chase people who are only enrolling. |
| Garvey Ranch Park | Families visiting the museum and the Wednesday evening observatory sessions are a natural audience for restaurant and activity ads. |
| Barnes Park | Festival weekends such as Chinese New Year and Cinco de Mayo justify short, budgeted bursts of ads for food, gifts and flowers. |
| Monterey Highlands | A hillside neighborhood that works as its own radius for home-service ads, kept apart from the flat commercial strips. |
Area names are informal and come from municipal, county and regional publications.

A budget check
Fill in your customer value, profit margin and close rate. You will see the most you could pay for a lead without losing money, plus how many customers it takes to cover your fee. Calculations stay in your browser.
Plans and fees
You pay one flat fee each month, based on how many ad platforms we manage, and there is no contract. Ad spend is its own budget and is paid to Google, Bing or Meta directly. If you plan to spend more than $10K a month, talk with us before you commit.
From owners in Monterey Park
Management is billed as one flat monthly fee: $895 covers one platform, $1,595 covers two, and $2,295 covers three, with no contract to sign. The ad budget is separate. It is paid to the platform and sized from your own economics. See the plan cards above, or compare plans on the pricing page.
Some campaigns produce calls the day they go live, and others need two to four weeks of tuning before the pattern is clear. Nothing is promised. In a market with 8,373 law offices and 6,381 dentists in the county, the first month is mostly learning which searches, hours and corners, from Atlantic and Garvey to North Garfield Avenue, work for you.
From your own numbers: what a customer is worth, how often a lead becomes one and how many you can serve. We do not start from a figure. A business near Atlantic and Garvey with a high-value service can justify a different budget than a lunch counter, and the account is adjusted as calls and form leads are tracked.
Search ads reach people who are already looking, so they usually come first for services. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) help when the goal is to be seen before the search, for example ahead of a festival at Barnes Park. Many accounts use both, and the report shows what each produces.
Yes, if you serve them. We set location targeting for San Gabriel, Montebello and Commerce in separate campaigns with their own landing pages, and exclude areas you do not cover. Within 7,871 residents per square mile, neighboring places are only a short drive away.
Yes, as separate campaigns. Each has its own keywords and landing page, and each is judged on its own calls and forms. With 17.4% of residents speaking Spanish at home as well, a Spanish campaign can be added if your customers use it. We only build languages your business can answer.
Narrow. Garfield Medical Center and other health employers sit nearby, and 21.5% of residents are 65 or older, so a small radius with specialty-specific ad groups and a visible phone number is a good start. The report shows whether the radius should expand or stay tight.
Block the words that signal no purchase, such as classes, jobs and enrollment, and use location settings that exclude East Los Angeles College if your offer is not for students. If it is, make it explicit with a student-friendly offer. Search term reports each month show which words to add to the block list.
It can be a second source of search traffic that reuses the same landing pages and tracking. We usually add it once the Google account is steady. With a 60,386-resident city already crowded at the county level, a second channel is a way to test more searches without rebuilding anything.
Some people using ChatGPT on free or lower-priced plans now see labeled sponsored ads that advertisers purchase from OpenAI directly. Targeting there runs by country or topic rather than by keyword, and reporting is still early, so we would treat it as a small experiment. Google Ads is still where most local plans begin; ask us to talk through whether a test fits.
